World War II became a catalyst for diversification, leading to the incorporation of Engineering Construction & Contracts (ECC) in 1944, a significant step toward construction projects.

The acquisition of 55 acres in Powai, Mumbai, in 1948 marked the establishment of its main manufacturing hub.
